This Saturday Middlesex play their 3rd match in the Home Counties League Campaign when they host Buckinghamshire BA at Broomfield in a game that starts at 1400hrs.

Middlesex will be looking to build on their last gasp victory over Sussex in their 2nd game and move up the table as they try to put pressure on League leaders Berkshire ahead of their July 15th clash.

Buckinghamshire, themselves, will be looking to put their opening game defeat to Berkshire behind them and get off the mark for the campaign as they were whitewashed on that occasion.

Team Manager Ray Fortune and his selectors have had to make wholesale changes to the originally selected side but they remain confident that the side contesting the game is more than good enough to win the points. 3 players will be making their debuts at Home Counties level in this game – Alan Woolf (Holtwhites), Andy Hatvani (Holtwhites) and Howard Warburton (Broomfield).

In recent seasons Middlesex have held sway in this game, winning 4 on the spin 2011-14, before losing at home in 2015. 3 of those wins were by 20-2 and that sort of return would be most welcome. Last year’s game did not take place as Buckinghamshire had temporarily withdrawn from the league.

The days other games see undefeated League Leaders Berkshire host Kent at Tilehurst BC and winless Oxfordshire host also undefeated Surrey at South Oxford BC

So why not come along to the Broomfield Club and support the side as they look for a much needed win.

Report will follow next week.
