"I hope all is well with you and your club members and that everyone is looking forward to being able to meet family and friends, albeit, still at a distance.
I attach the Middlesex Summer Newsletter. I have put the items only of interest to you Secretaries in a separate note.
As I am sure you are aware, the Prime Minister last night announced an easing of restrictions to enable groups of up to six people to meet outside.
However, at the time of writing the current Government guidance for lawn bowls continues to state:
“You can play lawn bowls where facilities have reopened, but you can only take part in these activities by yourself, or with members of your household or with 1 person outside of your household, as long as you are able to maintain social distancing.”
Bowls England are seeking clarification from Government on whether the announcement last night will lead to any relaxation in the current guidance for exercise and will update you in due course.
For information, earlier this week BE wrote to Sport England to request that dispensation be given to allow pairs play between members of two or more households and a response on this is awaited.
Some clubs may have space, away from the playing area for folk to sit and watch. I’m hoping to provide a sample risk assessment and self-declaration form next week so non-playing members can meet up with others and still maintain the personal (social) distancing.
Well folks, I'm here at the end of the phone, or my personal e-mail for reasonably fast response, as I tend to check this one every couple of days, so if you need to ask a question or need some help get in touch.
Have a great weekend and all the best."
I hope you all have a great weekend too. Discard the previous e-mail.Jacquie
